 Mikoyan Brothers Museum

Apart from the gorgeous monastery there the little village of Sanahin is famous for Mikoyan brothers. Anastas (Artashes) and Artyom Mikoyans, who were born to a poor and uneducated parents, are celebrated for their genuine talent and achievements in their respective fields. Anastas Mikoyan was a Bolshevik and was actively involved in establishment of communist rule in Armenia. He eventually became the secretary of Central Committee in Soviet Armenia and even the Chairman of Presidium of the Supreme Soviet.
The MiG plane in front of the museum is to honor Artyom Mikoyan a celebrated aero-engineer, who was the co-author of MiG plane with M. Gurevich.
The numerous photos in this small museum will shed light to life of these eminent men, on life in this village some 70-80 years ago and much more…
