Armenia Tourist Attractions - List of Main Sites

Armenia is rich of tourist attractions. Although the present day Armenia is 10 times smaller than Historic Armenia, still there are thousands of unique historical monuments, Churches and other sites in present Armenia.

Each Armenian site is unique and interesting, but the Greatest Tourist Attraction in Armenia remains the Holy Mount Ararat, which is the place of Second Birth for All Human Being. Holy Bible says that Noah's Ark landed on Ararat in Armenia during the Great Flood giving second birth to the Human Race. Thus both Armenia and Ararat are considered as Holy Places. In addition to this very fact, Ararat has such a miraculous beauty that everyone is deeply touched seeing this mountain's panorama from Yerevan, the Capital City of Armenia, or from other places in Armenia. Unfortunately Ararat is currently occupied be Turkey in the result of Genocide organized against Armenian people by the Turkish Government. However, the best view on Ararat is from Armenia.

2. Armenia Tourist Attractions in Western Armenia (currently occupied by Turkey)

In 1915 Turkish Government organized and systematically implemented Genocide of Armenian People who lived on their native land for over 3000 years. About 2 million people were killed in this bloody Crime against Humanity and against the Armenian Nation. Turkey not only killed the Armenian People, but also destroyed thousands of Armenian Christian Churches, historical monuments and khachkars (cross-stones). Even today Turkey steals and assimilates Armenian Cultural Heritage, Churches, Architectural Sites, Monuments, Music, Ornaments, Food Recipes, Dance and other things (read more about this here).

In spite the above mentioned Western Armenia Tourist Attractions are still impressive and attract thousands of tourists to this region from all over the World.
